Halloween: Too Scary

Wow.  Universities are some loco parents, huh?

University outlaws controversial (?) Halloween costumes.

I guess this means I have to take back my "Sexy Illegal Immigrant Kardashian Gardener" costume.

I've been to the University of Colorado, Boulder. If they tell the girls they can't go out dressed as members of an "over-sexualized culture," those classrooms will be exactly half empty tomorrow.

Indignant Duke students and faculty have managed to contrive controversies over "Pocahotness" a few years ago and "Viva Mexico" before that, so this nonsense sounds pretty familiar.

In other news, the dean has announced there will be no more fun of any kind.

Rather blatant, "content based discrimination" (not to mention vague). The article doesn't say what the school plans to do to those who disobey; if it's anything more severe than a frown, they'll be blasted in court.

Does it matter that the actual letter (http://www.colorado.edu/news/features/dressing-halloween) doesn't actually ban anything?

Oh wait, of course it doesn't.

JACKBOOTED THUGS ALL UP IN MY FREEEEDOM!

I get really offended by white trash costumes, because I'm like "Hey, I'm white trash, and I beg your parden, but I DON'T have that many teeth."

I recommend going as a University official. Wear a suit with a stick coming out of your ass.
